 You Should Have Listened

You said you'd never let me down,

Or see my smile turn into a frown.

You were there for me when situations got rough,

When I needed your support, you were always tough.

One little drink led to another,

You got into your car and killed my brother.

My dad told me to always be strong,

But how can I when everything went wrong?

Mom locks herself in her room now,

And she's too upset to come out.

Our home is never peaceful,

We always cry and shout.

People at school always ask me about you, I don't know if I should lie or tell them what's true.

As I sit down at my desk to learn and concentrate, I can feel the stares from my teachers and classmates.

I'm alone now without my best friend and brother.  I never thought that we would lose each other.

Things change very quickly and lives change very fast, but should I go on with my life and put this in the past?

Tell me why I have to live like this.

Not long ago you were calling me "lil sis"!

This is a lesson for me not to drink and drive.  If you would have listened to this, you would probably be alive.
